and mobile applications accessible in compliance with the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the accessibility requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council. 

Status of compliance with the requirements

The assessment of the compliance of the websites and mobile applications with the BFSG was carried out as a self-test using the “Axe-core” tool from Playwright. Axe-core checks the pages against WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Furthermore, we are in regular exchange with the inclusion and diversity officer and the Inclusion Working Group and use the feedback on our pages for continuous improvement.

Non-accessible content and current status of implementation

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our websites and mobile applications. Some websites and areas do not yet fully comply with the requirements. The content listed below is not always barrier-free:

  • Not all content and functions can be fully controlled or operated using a keyboard.
  • Not all images and graphics are provided with alternative texts to be readable by screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Background and font colors do not always have sufficient contrast ratios.
  • Some older images are missing ALT text. 

We have initiated appropriate measures to remedy these issues in order to achieve a high level of accessibility.
